ATRA Annual Meeting and Technical Seminar, Jan 2006

The Advanced Transit Association (ATRA) is holding a full day of organizational and technical sessions on January 22nd, just prior to the Transportation Research Board annual meeting in Washington, D.C. Come join those who are laying the groundwork for high performance automated transit systems of the future. The agenda will center on Personal Rapid Transit (PRT) and other paradigm-breaking mobility technologies. News of advanced projects and technologies from around the world including the Heathrow PRT program will be presented as well as ATRA’s role in emerging automated transit markets.

New Jersey PRT Feasibility and Viability Study Paul Hoffman - A summary of the study conducted for the State of New Jersey of the feasibility and viability of PRT technology. The study includes an assessment of the state of art of PRT technology and development vendors. It also includes an assessment of development, implementation, economic and operational issues and recommendation for advancing the technology for commercial readiness.

Review of Bologna Conference Larry Fabian - The new European Chapter of ATRA had its first event last November in a country with no known past PRT interests. It drew ~50 from Italy and northern Europe and a few from Korea and US. What was said? What does it mean?

Scope and Schedule for Heathrow PRT Martin Lowson - Earlier this year British Airport Authority (BAA) selected the ULTra Personal Rapid Transit system to provide better access to its terminals at Heathrow. Martin is the Chief Executive Officer of Advanced Transport Systems, LLC.

Vectus Hyojeong (Dawn) Choe - A presentation of the Vectus PRT system and the development of a test track in Uppsala Sweden.
