ATRA Annual Meeting and Technical Seminar,

The
Advanced Transit Association (ATRA) is holding a full day
of
organizational and technical sessions on January 22nd, just prior to
the
Transportation Research Board annual meeting in Washington, D.C.
Come join those
who are laying the groundwork for high performance
automated transit systems of
the future. The agenda will center on
Personal Rapid Transit (PRT) and other
paradigm-breaking mobility
technologies. News of advanced projects and
technologies from around
the world including the Heathrow PRT program will be
presented as
well as ATRA’s role in emerging automated transit
markets.
The
registration fee is $40. ATRA members qualify for a lower rate
of

discussion of topics central to ATRA's
purpose and activities. Others

will be reserved for topic specific committee meetings

identified.

conducted for the State of New Jersey of the feasibility and
viability of PRT
technology. The study includes an assessment of the
state of art of PRT
technology and development vendors. It also
includes an assessment of

operational issues and recommendation
for advancing the technology
for commercial readiness.

European Chapter of ATRA had
its first event last November in a country with no
known past PRT
interests. It drew ~50 from Italy and northern Europe and a few
